One Size Does Not Fit All

Generally, you would not use the search methodology for hiring a Sales Person as you would a CFO or other executive level position for your company.

As your business adapts and grows with the market, it will advance your hiring efforts to utilize a variety of candidate search options in order to recruit and hire employees for your company.  Your company may periodically have a unique or niche position that requires a more in-depth search in order to identify the right candidates for the role.

The Top Source Talent team has long-standing expertise to work with your team in order to identify and recruit targeted candidates for your hard-to-fill positions utilizing multiple search solutions.  Besides our most common RPO level contract option, Top Source Talent also offers both contingency and retained search services.

What is a Contingency Search option?

The contingency search model is primarily used to fill niche, hard-to-fill individual-contributor level roles.

It is common for an organization to engage with multiple contingent search firms, each of which will submit multiple candidate profiles or resumes for client consideration in an attempt to fill the position as quickly as possible.

Top Source Talent does not work along-side other contingency search firms.  We offer contingency level searches, but on an exclusive contract basis only in order to provide the best level of search for our clients.   We perform our contingency searches in the same manner as we would a retained executive search.

Top Source Talent utilizes a proprietary database and professional network associations to identify “passive” candidates for the role(s) to be filled.

The Top Source Talent contingency search recruiters perform in-depth screening of the candidate’s qualifications and skill set in order to gauge how the selected individuals will fit within an organization and/or a specific team. This will ensure that the 3-5 qualified candidates presented for consideration meet—and sometimes exceed—the requirements that are required of the position.

The fee percentage for a contingent search is negotiated before the search is started.  The fee typically varies between 20-25% for a contingent search, based on the hired candidates base salary.  The fee is invoiced and paid once a candidate is placed and hired with a Top Source Talent client.

The placement guarantee for a contingent search is typically 60-90 days, depending on the fee percentage.

What is a Retained Search option?

The retained search model is best utilized when organizations need to fill highly specialized, confidential or executive leadership talent.

As a higher-end service, Top Source Talent is able to provide retained search services on an exclusive basis.  At the onset of the search, a dedicated team is assigned to fulfill the search requirements for the client.   Top Source Talent utilizes a proprietary database and professional network associations to identify “passive” candidates for the role(s) to be filled.

The retained-search team performs in-depth screening of the candidate’s qualifications and skill set in order to gauge how the selected individuals will fit within an organization and/or a specific team. This will ensure that the 3-5 qualified candidates presented for consideration meet—and sometimes exceed—the requirements that are required of the position.

A retained search may have a 90 – 180 day duration to complete due to the complex nature of the search.

The fee percentage for a retained search is negotiated before the search is started.  The fee typically varies between 25-30% for a retained search, based on the hired candidate’s overall target compensation (base salary plus target bonus).

The fees associated with an executive retained search are invoiced in three installments:   1/3 of estimated fee is due upon the start of the search, the second 1/3 is invoiced between 45-60 days of the search, and the remaining 1/3 of the fee is invoiced between 90 – 180 days or upon successful hire.
